With the holiday travel season approaching, we would like to encourage SMPH faculty and staff to consult with the SMPH IIT User Support Service Team prior to traveling internationally with their managed device. This will allow the User Support Service Team to make sure all appropriate updates are applied, and all appropriate cybersecurity tools are working as expected.
Please keep in mind that while we are targeting the heavy travel season, it is a good idea to let the User Support Service Team know any time that you will be traveling internationally and plan on working remotely.
To notify the User Support Service Team that you will be traveling internationally, contact your current User Support Services Unit.
For cybersecurity tips on securing your device before, during, and after international travel, please see the Cybersecurity for International Remote Work KB. Please keep in mind that by simply taking your device to another country, there is additional risk involved, as many countries have different laws on privacy and have broad legal authority to search and seize the possessions of individuals entering and leaving those countries.
Please reference the Remote Work Policy and SMPH’s International Remote Work Guide prior to your trip to determine if a formal remote work agreement will be required. If you have any questions, please reach out to your HR Business Partner.
