Welcome to the School of Medicine and Public Health Informatics and Information Technology!
We are a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, engineers, developers, and IT support staff. We offer a variety of Informatics and IT services to departments and research staff within the School of Medicine and Public Health and beyond to support the conduct of high-quality clinical and translational research.
Informatics: We provide innovative solutions and training for a broad spectrum of clinical and translational research utilizing real-world data to facilitate rapid translation of research findings into clinical practice, with an emphasis on precision medicine, healthcare delivery, and population health.
Technology Solutions: We provide technology solutions to the School of Medicine and Public Health including cybersecurity, educational technology, and IT support.

Academic Information Services
The teams in Academic Information Services provide the IT support and services that facilitate the teaching mission and administration of the School of Medicine and Public Health.
Informatics
The Informatics team at the School of Medicine and Public Health supports departmental needs as well as the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research and Carbone Cancer Center. The group is dedicated to optimizing the conduct of high-quality clinical and translational research and providing the needed computational and informational infrastructure for investigators at UW-Madison and Marshfield Clinic. They assist investigators during project conceptualization, grant submission, and deployment of secure data storage and processing methods.
GRC and ISO
The ISO and GRC teams manage the data communication network that serves the departments, institutes and centers that comprise the School of Medicine and Public Health. The group is responsible for maintaining fast, reliable network connections on the UW-Madison campus and at several remote locations. The group also implements security safeguards to protect transmitted data including protected health information in electronic form (ePHI).
