Cisco Webex Vs Cisco Jabber

UW-Madison has recently transitioned from Cisco Jabber to the Cisco Webex Suite and app for VoIP phone calls, voice/video conferencing, online meetings, screen sharing, chat and webinars. If you or your team currently uses Jabber, we recommend you switch to the Webex app. Not only will this app eventually replace Jabber, but it offers an array of new features that will enhance your team’s experience.

If you want to use Cisco Webex Unified app as your phone client, follow the prompts to sign in and
connect to phone services. This will automatically log you out of Cisco Jabber. Voicemails and settings will transfer between both applications.

 

If you’re signed into Webex, you’ll see something similar:

If you are not signed in, you will need to click “Reconnect” and “Sign In”.

If you are logged out of Cisco Webex and try to log in, you will receive a message stating you are signed into another program asking if you would like to switch apps.
